Still Here...

The Wojos are still here and doing fine! Blogging has really gotten away from me this past month! Maybe it's because by the time I pick up Jackson, make supper, we eat, and then I clean up each night, I am so tired. Maybe I am so tired because I am also nauseous. Maybe I am tired and nauseous because I'm PREGNANT!!! If you didn't know yet, SURPRISE!!! (Or not, because NO ONE that I told in either mine or Curt's families was surprised. Excited, yes, but not surprised. Except one of my best gals, Alli. So thanks, Al. :) I guess that's what we get for foolishly telling people we'd be trying... oops!) Jackson was so adorable when I first told him he's going to be a big brother: of course he had no idea what I meant, but he grinned and gave me a huge hug! It was so sweet.

I vow to update the blog with other posts soon: Jackson's first haircut (oh, that one's actually below - oops), a visit from the Beaudoin grandparents, and our downstairs bathroom creation project. Be patient with me, though - you know I generally suck at this! Katie, you are officially not the worst blogger ever.

First Haircut

If you look closely at the pictures in the Easter post, you can tell that Jackson was sportin' his new big-boy hairdo that day! While we were back home for Easter, Curt's sister Erin and I took Jackson for his first haircut. He was a little squirmy at first and didn't quite like wearing a cape, but as soon as the hairdresser whipped out a pink light-up mirror, he was sold. I could not believe how well he stayed focused on that thing, and for how long. He kept making funny faces and reaching for his head when she sprayed his hair, so she also kept him distracted with a water bottle to hold here and there. He didn't cry at all (neither did I, thank you!) until the very end when she brought out the buzzer. He was not loving that thing touching his head. She was quick, put it away, and he was fine after that. Mommy was so proud of her handsome little boy, but it was so sad, too, because he really did look like a little boy after that! :(

Thank goodness for the girly toy that entertained him!

He liked to watch what was happening in the big mirror...

...except for the buzz cutter thingy! Haircut = over.

Easter

This past weekend we were down at Curt's parents' house for Easter. We got to meet our new nephew, Jameson, and spend some time playing outside with Jackson and Madelyn. The weather was nice, and it was fun to watch the kids playing where their parents played when they were little. Unfortunately, that was the one and only time, as the Wojos are selling their house in May, but I know we will make lots of fun, new memories at the new place, too.

Madelyn and her new little brother, Jameson,
in their Sunday best. Isn't that dress adorable?!

Chillin' in the playhouse with Madelyn and Uncle Matt

Jackson's first time in the sandbox! He didn't want to sit
down right away, but Madelyn showed him the ropes. He
has yet to taste-test any sand...

I hope you had a nice Easter with your family and got to enjoy the beautiful spring weather that's finally arrived!

The Duerrs

A few weeks ago my friend Shawn from work came over with her family, Josh and Avery, for dinner. Avery just had her first birthday this week, and she and Jackson are about the same size, although he's two months older. I find it amazing that girls are so much bigger than boys when they are little and that that usually turns around by the time they reach school-age, if not before. I knew this fact before I had a child, but seeing it up close is really something! Soon enough we won't even be able to tell the difference. The kids were so cute together, smiling at each other and sharing toys. We don't get to see Jackson interacting with other kids very often since most of that happens at daycare, so it's fun to see him being friends with someone his age.

We have lots in common with the Duerrs; we always have a good time when we're together and look foward to our next visit!

She really liked it!

"Pull all the books and decorations off the bookshelf."

Then they had to sit down and have a serious conversation about it

Dress Shopping

Now that Brea and Andrew have decided (again) to get married here in MN, we actually get to do some fun, girly stuff, including dress shopping! I took Jackson down to St. Cloud a couple Saturdays ago so we could help Bre pick out and try on dresses. It was so exciting! Although I had supported their decision to get married in Jamaica and do something memorable that would make them happy, I think they ultimately made the right choice in deciding to share their big day with family and friends. Bre realized that she wouldn't want it any other way, and I know they will both be happy with the decision in the end.

Jackson thought his auntie looked very pretty, and even had some
"ooh"s for the first couple dresses. Doesn't he look like a little hick
with his hands like that?!

It's Been a While...

Are you sick of looking at pictures from our month-plus-ago Vegas trip? If so, I will update the blog soon on other family happenings. If not, I have plenty more to show you! So post a comment and let me know what to do with my next post, which will hopefully be coming soon...

Vacation Pictures 2

The four of us on the Strip by the Venetian; the couples cuddling on the shuttle ride to the Strip

Sorry it has gotten to be so long again! We were visiting Andrew & Brea in Hudson last weekend so I didn't have time to update then. It seems that weekends during Jackson's naps are the only times I can do this anymore, otherwise he's right next to me trying to "help" me type and destroying the computer in the process. Anyway, here are more pictures from the trip.

There was some sort of old-people's group wearing old-fashioned outfits and driving around in these model cars at Red Rock Canyon. The ladies reminded me of my Grandma Beaudoin in their fancy get-ups; she would have thought that was classy. At one overlook they got out to use the bathroom and have coffee & donuts, but it was so windy that the donuts fell all over the ground - a tragedy!

This was where the tour bus stopped to pick up the people we had to wait for while they cruised - literally - around Lake Mead at the Hoover Dam. There is an actual marina there and people do lots of pleasure boating, water skiing, etc., in the summer.

Curt and Cody hiked way up into this hill behind the casino where we ate the cheapest (and by that I mean crappiest) buffet in all of Nevada.

This is a view of the pool at the Tahiti where we stayed. Makes me want to go back!

On Wednesday night (I think) we went to my favorite restaurant, The Cheesecake Factory, where Curt & I shared my favorite meal, their French bistro version of shrimp scampi (above). Scrumptious! Then we went to the Blue Man Group - a fun, neat show - and Curt and Cody screwed around in the lobby area afterwards.

Heff and Sara at the wax museum. Sara was hoping to get engaged to Cody in Vegas, but then she saw George Clooney and decided to settle for him.

Mandalay Bay at night. Curt and I walked a long way almost to the door one night just to decide we didn't feel like going in, and now I wish we would have. Cody & Sara said it was really pretty inside. But then again, we had been inside several really pretty hotels/casinos already...

Sara and I with Steve Wyrick, the cool magician we saw at Planet Hollywood. He's super hot! And look how he tried to get cheek-to-cheek with me! Hehe!

Curt & I met up with Jim & Jenny, our friends from Curt's work who were in Vegas for his computer training thing while we were there. We had dinner together one night, saw the magic show on the same night, and went up to the top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris together.

This is Curt having a hard time getting excited on the ride to the top. Good thing he was buzzed or it wouldn't have happened at all! He kept grabbing on to the back of my shirt and pulling on me when we got up there, like we were both going to go crashing down over the side of the 8-foot high guardrail. Needless to say, he didn't last very long.

The amazing view of the Strip and the Bellagio from the top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris.
